An evergreen shrub or small tree, growing 12 to 18 feet tall, 12 feet wide with clean looking glossy, dark green foliage. Small flowers are followed by waxy purple berries that attract birds. Sun or shade, quite drought and wind tolerant, an excellent screen or informal hedge and can be clipped. Bay Area native.
