Sarcococca confusa

Sweet Box

Native to the Himalayas and China this evergreen shrub grows slowly 4 to 6 feet high, 3 to 7 feet wide. Tiny, very fragrant white flowers in late winter followed by red, then black berries. Tolerates sun along the coast but well behaved in heavy shade. A good choice for difficult shade situations.
