Red Elderberry

A fast growing shrub ranging from 6 to 20 feet. Pyrimidal white flower clusters in early spring followed by clusters of red berries, poisonous to people but liked by birds. Sun or part shade, drought tolerant but doesn’t mind watering. Crushed leaves used for nettle and bee stings. Native to moist canyons. Bay Area Native
