Perennial bunch grass for slopes and open ground with long narrow, arching blades 2 to 3&1/2 feet long in the sun. One of the major species of California grasslands along with N pulchra and N. cernua. Quite showy. Drought tolerant and good for erosion control. Reseeds. Bay Area Native
