A delicate looking but hardy, upright bunch grass to 18 inches tall or more. It is found in dry rocky soils, meadows and open woodlands. A very adaptable, drought tolerant grass growing in the coastal and Sierra ranges down to the Mojave Desert. Bay Area Native
