Wooly Sunflower

Found on open slopes along the ocean and wooded canyonsides further inland, it makes a showy display of large golden yellow flowers. Growng only 4 to 18 inches tall, 1 to 2 foot spread, it is quite drought and wind tolerant. Full sun or light shade, blooms longer with water, lives longer without it. Bay Area Native
