Echium wildpertii

Tower of Jewels

This biennial forms a low mound or gray green leaves the first year maybe 2 feet tall, 3 feet wide. The second year it sends up a showy tower 6 to 10 feet tall with tiny rose red flowers and then dies. It reseeds readily. Full sun, quite drought and deer resistant. More cold hardy than Pride of Madeira.
