An attractive, fast growing large deciduous shrub 6 to 15 feet tall, 4 t 12 feet wide, it has showy clusters of white flowers in late spring followed by dark purple berries that attract birds. Full sun or light shade, average to lots of water. Good in a mixed hedge, if allowed to sucker it makes a good barrier plant. Bay Area Native
