Asclepias speciosa Showy Milkweed Growing 3 to 4 feet tall, slowly spreading, with showy purplish flowers followed by large seed heads. Native to warmer valleys and foothills it likes sun and can handle heavy clay soils with additional summer watering Attracts butterflies and bumblebees and is the only plant used for Monarch larvae.
